Freshly cleaned and sealed paver patio with crisp joints

Paver Restoration

Paver cleaning, sanding, and sealing in Charlotte

Washing pavers makes them look better for a season. Restoring them — cleaning, re-sanding the joints, and sealing — is what actually holds the surface together and keeps it looking that way.

  • Deep clean
  • Joint sand replaced
  • Sealed & stabilized
  • Clear written pricing

The problem

Why pavers stop looking new

A paver surface is thousands of individual units held in place by what's between them. When the joints go, everything else follows.

Washed-out joint sand

Rain and pressure washing pull sand out of the joints. Once it's gone, the pavers start shifting under load.

Weeds and moss in the seams

Open joints collect soil and seed. Pulling weeds is a losing battle until the joints are filled properly again.

Ants and undermining

Ants nest in loose joints and move base material to the surface, which is what creates those sunken low spots.

Flat, faded color

Years of UV, pollen, and grime leave the surface chalky. The color is usually still there under the film.

Oil, rust, and organic stains

Driveway drips, leaf tannin, and irrigation rust all soak into unsealed pavers and get harder to lift over time.

Uneven, shifting units

Pavers that rock underfoot or catch a toe are a joint-stabilization problem, not a cleaning problem.

What's included

What a full paver restoration covers

We'll tell you honestly whether a surface needs the full restoration or just a cleaning.

Clean

  • Deep surface cleaning at the right pressure for the paver type
  • Joint clearing — old sand, weeds, moss, and soil out
  • Targeted treatment for oil, rust, and organic staining
  • Edges, borders, and step treads included

Sand & stabilize

  • Polymeric sand installed or replaced in the joints
  • Sand swept in, settled, and activated properly
  • Joint stabilization to reduce shifting under traffic
  • Reduced weed growth and ant activity through the seams

Seal

  • Sealer applied evenly across the surface
  • Color enhancement where the pavers and finish suit it
  • Added resistance to staining and weathering
  • Driveways, patios, walkways, pool decks, and outdoor living areas

How it works

What to expect

  1. 01

We look at the surface, check joint depth, settling, and staining, and tell you what it actually needs.

  2. 02

The pavers get deep cleaned and the joints get cleared of old sand, weeds, and soil.

  3. 03

The surface dries, then polymeric sand goes into the joints, gets settled, and is activated.

  4. 04

Sealer is applied evenly, the area is kept clear while it cures, and we walk it with you.

Cleaning versus restoring

  • Cleaning alone leaves the joints empty, which is what lets weeds, ants, and shifting come right back.
  • Filled, stabilized joints keep the pavers locked together so the surface stays flat underfoot.
  • Sealing helps the surface shed spills and staining instead of absorbing them.
  • Color enhancement brings back the tone the pavers had when they were installed, where the finish suits it.

Questions

Frequently asked

How long does sealer last?
It depends on the sealer, the surface, sun exposure, and traffic. We'll tell you what to expect for your specific surface rather than quoting a number that may not apply to it.
Do I have to seal after cleaning?
No. Plenty of surfaces just need the cleaning and re-sanding. We'll tell you if sealing makes sense for yours.
How long before I can use the patio or driveway?
It varies with the product and the weather. We'll give you a specific keep-off window for foot traffic and vehicles before we start.
Will sealing make the surface slippery?
Sealer choice matters here, especially around pool decks. Tell us how the space gets used and we'll match the product to it.
Can you fix sunken or uneven pavers?
Minor settling can often be addressed as part of the work. Significant base failure is a hardscape repair — we'll tell you straight if that's what you're looking at.
